MemberClicks vs. YourMembership: Same Parent, Different Products

Most pages comparing MemberClicks and YourMembership write them up as rivals. They aren't. Momentive Software acquired MemberClicks on December 23, 2020, and still lists both MemberClicks and YourMembership AMS as its own products. You're not choosing between two competing companies. You're choosing between two membership platforms built by the same one.

That changes the question worth asking. A comparison that treats them as rivals will flatten MemberClicks' two different products into one number, repeat a feature table YourMembership itself dates to 2019, or call one "the alternative" to the other without saying who owns both. Once you know they're siblings, the real question isn't who wins. It's which of Momentive's two products was actually built for an organization like yours.

Sources: MemberClicks states the acquisition date and calls itself part of "the Momentive portfolio of brands" (memberclicks.com/about, read 19 October 2026). Momentive Software's own site lists MemberClicks and YourMembership AMS among its products (momentivesoftware.com, read 19 October 2026).

memberclicks pricing

What MemberClicks actually costs

MemberClicks isn't one price. It's two products. MC Pro, built for associations with individual members, starts at $4,500 a year: full membership management, a member directory, committee management, automated dues collection, event management, an easy-to-build website, a member portal, and real-time reporting. MC Trade, built for organizations with organizational members (trade associations, chambers of commerce), starts at $3,500 a year: full CRM, advanced dues automation, an online directory, an eCommerce store, specialty pricing for chambers, and a relational database built for parent-child and employer-employee structures. Both go up from there based on your organization's size and what you need, which MemberClicks says outright rather than publishing one number and letting you find out later (memberclicks.com/pricing, read 19 October 2026).

Here's where that gets lost: Capterra lists MemberClicks at a flat $3,500 a year, no tiers, which is the MC Trade starting price with no mention that MC Pro exists at a different number for a different kind of association (capterra.com, read 15 October 2026). If your members are individuals rather than organizations, you're pricing against the wrong product.

yourmembership pricing

What YourMembership actually costs

Nothing published. No starting price, no tier breakdown, nothing on YourMembership's own site; every quote comes from a sales call (yourmembership.com/how-ym-compares, read 19 October 2026). That's not unusual for enterprise association software, but it means every third-party number floating around for YourMembership is someone's estimate, and estimates for the same product disagree with each other depending on where you look. Get a direct quote before you weigh it against MemberClicks' published starting prices. A real number against a guess isn't a comparison.

side by side

The real differences, inside one company's product line

Strip away the marketing and the two products do overlap, because they're built by the same company: committee management, dues automation, an easy-to-build website, and a member portal show up on both MC Pro and MC Trade. Where they split from each other, and from YourMembership:

  • MC Pro adds call-for-papers and abstract management, member engagement analytics, and custom form creation, aimed at associations billing individual members.
  • MC Trade adds a full CRM, sales management, an eCommerce store, granular admin permissions, and a relational database for linking parent and child organizations, aimed at chambers and trade groups billing organizations, not people.
  • YourMembership leads with PCI compliance, tokenization, multi-factor authentication and GDPR features (its own page calls this "unmatched security"), plus a built-in career center and an integrated e-commerce system for registrations, a store, and recurring donations.

One honest gap in YourMembership's own comparison: its feature table lists "modern online community," "flexible payments," "built-in online store" and "enhanced data security" under both YourMembership and MemberClicks, with no detail on which company actually has which. Combined with the page's own disclosure that its data is "as of 2019" and "subject to change," that table doesn't show a real difference. It's worth going to each vendor's current pricing page directly rather than trusting either company's own comparison chart.

fit

Which one fits your organization

If your members are individuals, people joining as themselves, MC Pro is the MemberClicks product built for that, not MC Trade. If your members are organizations, companies or chambers joining as entities, MC Trade is the one with the CRM and the chamber pricing, not MC Pro. If security and compliance paperwork (PCI, GDPR, multi-factor authentication) is the thing your board actually asks about, YourMembership leads with that explicitly. None of the three is the wrong answer in the abstract. The wrong answer is picking based on a comparison chart that doesn't say which Momentive product you're actually choosing, or a directory that quoted you one flattened number for a two-tier product.

rent vs own

The third option

All three of these are still a subscription with Momentive's name on the invoice, whichever one you pick. We build membership platforms organizations own outright instead of rent: your own domain, your own Stripe account, your own data, a CMS your team can edit without calling us. aa-ma.org is a live example, a full membership platform we built with a directory, events with QR check-in, payments, donations, a job board, and a community space, all on the association's own infrastructure. If a Momentive product fits what your board needs this year, we'll say so. If what's actually bothering you is that the platform was never going to be yours no matter which one you picked, that's the conversation we're set up to have.

common questions

Are MemberClicks and YourMembership the same company?

Yes. Momentive Software acquired MemberClicks on December 23, 2020, and lists both MemberClicks and YourMembership AMS among its products today.

Which is cheaper, MemberClicks or YourMembership?

MemberClicks publishes starting prices: $4,500/year for MC Pro, $3,500/year for MC Trade. YourMembership publishes none, so there's no apples-to-apples number to compare it against. Any "YourMembership costs about $X" you find elsewhere is a third-party estimate, not a published figure.

What's the actual difference between MC Pro and MC Trade?

"MemberClicks" isn't one product. MC Pro is built for associations with individual members and starts at $4,500/year. MC Trade is built for organizations with organizational members, like chambers of commerce, and starts at $3,500/year, with a full CRM and eCommerce store that MC Pro doesn't have. A price you see quoted as "MemberClicks" without naming which tier is incomplete.
